Founded in 1958 within the VIth section (economic and social sciences) of the École pratique des hautes études (EPHE), the “Center for research in history of science and technology” changed name in 1966 to become the Centre Alexandre-Koyré (UMR 8560). The Centre belongs to the École des hautes études en sciences sociales, the CNRS and the Muséum national d’histoire naturelle and hosts over one hundred researchers, university lecturers and professors, post-doctoral researchers and doctoral students.
