Symposium "Governing Science and Technology, Governing through Science and Technology: What was at Stake for Women?"

The online symposium Governing Science and Technology, Governing through Science and Technology: What was at Stake for Women? (From the late 19th to the earl 21st Century) will take place on the 1st and 2nd of July.
The symposium is organized around 7 panels conceived as spaces for research and discussion :

2. Career Storytelling
3. On the Margins of Science and Technology
4. Gendered Professions
5. Scientific Collectives
6. Science and Technology: Ambivalent Vectors of Women’s Emancipation
7. New Opportunities and Resistance

This symposium replaces the conference which should have been held in Moscow in June 2020 and which was supported by the CAK (Paris), CEFR (Moscow), CERCEC (Paris), Cermes3 (Paris), CRHS (Paris), DHI (Moscow), EHESS (Paris), LARHRA (Lyon) and the Women's Commission of the DHST.
This symposium is being held in memory of Larissa Zakharova (1977-2019), a specialist of the Soviet Union who devoted much of her work to the history of technology. Her last work, published by the ‘Éditions de l’EHESS’, is entitled De Moscou aux confins les plus profonds. Communications, pouvoir et société en Union soviétique (‘From Moscow to the Remotest Corners: Communication, Power and Society in the Soviet Union’).
